The pressing zone consists of 3 pneumatic presses of 25,000 kilos
each, plus 5 plate presses of 5,000 kilos each and one mobile
pneumatic press with a 5,000 kilos capacity. All-included, there
is a pressing capacity of 500 tons per day.
The plant also has two cold centres, plus mobile equipment which
together provide a total capacity of 920 thousand units of refrigeration
per hour. In two aisles with complete thermal insulation there
are 176 Stainless Steel tanks of different capacities, offering
a total capacity in steel of 10,792,000 litres. There are also
casks of American and French Oak, adding 386,000 litres of capacity
for aging and storing "reserve" wines.
The
bottling room has a multi-format line and is totally pressurized
to avoid external contamination. It has a capacity of 5000 bottles
per hour, allowing traditional and self-adhesive labels to be
used and wax to replace the capsule protecting the cork.
It also has warehousing for the storage of bottled wine, with
enough space in total for 1 million bottles. Finally, it has
laboratories for analysis and microbiology, with all the latest
equipment.
In summary, Viña Morandé S.A. has the most modern technology
available for the production of fine wines. |
