With our characteristic "Adventurer" spirit and "Pioneering" character, we launch now one of our specialties, that we have named "Edición Limitada".
These wines are the result of very particular climatic conditions and very tenacious vineyard management. The combination of grape varieties, soil conditions and vinification techniques, all contribute to the creation of these unique wines of limited availability.
Morandé Edición Limitada will be a permanent range, however the varietals in this line will vary from time to time. We will be permanently searching for particular climatic conditions, re-inventing processes and treatments, in order to get the best of our grapes and souls. Only in this way we will be able to produce a wine of dreams, that will be unique and special, that will never be repeated again.
Our enological philosophy is based in looking for the pleasure and satisfaction of our friends, always searching for diversity, excellence, entertainment and slightly calling the attention of the personal taste and gormandizing of our drinkers, to engrave our wines in their memories. All these through a very audacious proposition, with a lot of passion, vast imagination, enormous love and devotion for what we do.

MORANDÉ EDICIÓN LIMITADA
CABERNET SAUVIGNON/MERLOT |
|
|
 |
A wine the colour of dark rubies, intense and shining. The aroma is reminiscent of red fruits, prunes, vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth it is intense, rounded, smooth and almost silky; full-bodied and with a long, delightful finish.
The vineyard was originally the old Viña Santa Blanca, situated in the Cachapoal Valley, in the Rapel area. The vineyards are densely planted, with more than 6,000 rootstocks per hectare, and this allows grapes to be produced with very highly concentrated flavours and aromas.
The vinification of these grapes, both the Cabernet and Merlot, is carried out in small stainless steel tanks in the style used in Bordeaux, and after a long maceration period, the wines are racked into casks for malolactic fermentation and ageing. Ageing in this case took 15 months and the wine was then bottled to complete its development. It is packaged without leaking to maintain in optimal form its flavors.

MORANDÉ EDICIÓN LIMITADA GOLDEN HARVEST 2000 |
|
|
 |
This is a unique wine which was produced in very
limited quantities, due to the unusual climatic conditions that
affected the Casablanca Valley during the summer of the year
2000. It was produced using Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the
Casablanca Valley which had been affected by noble Botrytis
Cinerea, and each grape was selected individually. It is yellow
and olive green in colour, with a patina of old gold, dense
and syrupy. It has the scent of orange blossom, jasmine and
magnolia, white melon honey and ripe coconut, papayas, candied
fruit in syrup, and vanilla. In the mouth it is syrupy, dense
and oily, being at the same time filling and seductive, with
the rich flavours of candied fruit, vanilla and caramel, dried
fruit and sun-ripened peaches. The honey of kings.
El Ensueño,
located in the famous Casablanca Valley. The 2000 vintage was
affected by rain on two occasions during the period when the
grapes were being harvested, and this was followed by very cold,
misty days. These conditions favoured the slow development of
noble rot, due to botrytis cinerea.
Once the grapes had shrivelled,
they were selected one by one in order to extract a richly concentrated
juice. |
MORANDÉ EDICIÓN LIMITADA
GOLDEN RESERVE |
|
|
 |
This is an intensely purple-red wine, dense,
with violet and earthy touches. Its aromas are reminiscent of
the coastal mountain range, with the scent of maqui, rose hips
and sour cherries, boldo logs and toasted grain. One can also
capture hints of hazelnuts and ripe blackberries.
In the mouth its attack is forcible and its advance firm,
broad and ripe with great strength. It has immense power given
by its intense tannins and gracious acidity. Mature, generous
and very masculine. It evokes the fruit of the coast, the
blackberry and liqueur cherry, the melosa and the culén.
Long-lasting and persistent.
The Santa Elena de Loncomilla vineyard, planted during the
1950s, is in a non-irrigated sector, buried among the mountain
chains of the Maule coastal range. It is very modest, with
no irrigation and with very poor, eroded soils. The topography
is undulating and the vines are planted on eastward-facing
slopes.
The main crops are Carignan, Cinsault and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The system of training used was originally that of the Goblet
or Head, to which posts and wires have been added in some
sectors to improve their architecture.
A very good accompaniment for meat, game, stews and strong
cheeses.
