When thinking about wine, many factors have to be taken into account in choosing the source of the grapes, in order to obtain a final product that faithfully reflects the original idea conceived in the mind of the artist, the enologist.
As much as 20 years ago, Pablo Morandé, following a visit to the Napa and Carneros Valleys of California, began to dream about the idea of a similar project in Chile. The climate, geography and vegetation he saw in his visits were very similar to those found in the valleys of central Chile, and so began a slow, but interesting and no less challenging search for a valley in which to have the possibility of emulating the results that he had sampled in California.
He did not take long to decide on the Casablanca Valley, a place in which nobody believed wine could be produced. Today, almost 20 years later, the valley, transformed into a garden by some of the most important vineyards in Chile, enjoys worldwide fame and recognition for the advantages it offers for growing white vine-stocks, especially Chardonnay.
Viña Morandé S.A. has 100 hectares under cultivation in the valley, giving generously of their fruit, which is one of the two basic elements in producing the wines that make up the Dueto product line. The other element is the experience and skill of the enologist, Pablo Morandé, Pioneer of the Casablanca Valley, in capturing and expressing inside the bottle the maximum potential of which the grapes are capable, thus achieving a line of fresh, aromatic wines, tremendously exciting in their strength and fruitiness.
Dueto, enólogist and valley.

This is a yellow wine, the colour of white gold.. It offers
the nose aromas of tropical fruit, including papaya and melon, together
with herbs and flowers. It is big in the mouth, heavy, with
a great flavour of pineapple and vanilla. A full-bodied wine
with a long, persistent finish: very juicy and attractive.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from the El Ensueño vineyard,
situated in the Casablanca Valley. The soils are sandy, with
the influence of the sea and the cold climate, all of which
allows suitable canopy management aimed at maximizing the amount
of sunlight reaching the area where the grapes are ripening.
This also accentuates the development of flavour in the fruit
and the maturity of the tannins. Irrigation is used wisely to
maintain the balance between the growth of the vine and the
ripening of the fruit.
It is a good wine to drink as an aperitif and an excellent accompaniment
for fish and seafood au gratin or for clams and oysters.
