The idea of making a journey among different valleys and mountain ranges, crossing different latitudes, with different people and different suns, in search of little-known, almost forgotten grapes, is an enological adventure that forms part of the pioneering spirit of Viña Morandé.
We have re-discovered ancestral vine-stocks and turned them into wine unmixed, in order to demonstrate their special potential.

MORANDÉ AVENTURA CINSAULT
A vinestock from the south of France, which was introduced into the south of Chile because of its interesting productive potential in unirrigated conditions. It was Chileanized under the name of "cargadora", because of its plentiful production. However, under restrictive conditions, such as the unirrigated slopes of the Itata area, it produces a wine the colour of fresh raspberries and cherries, with a fragrance reminiscent of Chilean strawberries and maquis from the south. It has a fresh taste, slightly acidic and juicy, reminding one of bitter cherries with hints of syrup. A light, pleasant body. It makes an excellent accompaniment to light meals, salads and charcuterie.
MORANDÉ AVENTURA CARIGNAN

From the south of France and found in wide areas of Spain, it was introduced into the unirrigated areas of Chile because it gives a red wine of bright colour and acidity, useful for blending into the creole variety known as País. It needs a hot climate. In Cauquenes - in the Maule Region - it produces a wine of a deep, intense violet red.

Its fragrance is of dried fruit, black coffee and dried cherries, with a dry, acidic, tannic flavour of great intensity and strength. Ideal for red meats, especially lamb, hare, venison and small game, and manchego or parmesan cheese.

MORANDÉ AVENTURA CESAR
Originating in southern Italy, in Chile it was also known as Romano. It travelled throughout Europe with the advance of the Empire and remained in only one region of France, close to the Loire.

In the Maipo Valley is gives a wine with the red colour of dried cherries, intense and dense. Its scent is candied, with bitter cherry and caramel, and it has an intense, acidic, tannic taste, full of flavour and of great body. Ideal for pastas with meat or Bolognese sauces, for wild mushrooms and spiced pastas. It combines perfectly with Tuscan and Roman cuisine.

MORANDÉ AVENTURA MALBEC
Also known as Bordeaux Cot Rouge, it is used in that area of France for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. From a very old vineyard in the Maipo Valley, it produces a wine with the intense colour of black cherries. It has the scent of cherries, raspberries in syup and vanilla, with a hint of cloves. It has a smooth taste, becoming tannic and lightly full. It gives an evident fruity taste in the mouth which gives it a juicy quality that combines well with its astringency. A good wine for aging.

It combines very well with cheese, meat and game birds, preferably with dark meat, such as pigeons, doves and wild ducks.
MORANDÉ AVENTURA BOUSCHET
This variety was created by Mr Henry Bouschet and has been called Alicante Bouschet. It was introduced into Chile for use in mixtures to improve the colour of weak wines. Due to its high acidity, it can stand very hot climates.

The wine is a deep intense blue-red with great optical density. The fragrance is of dried blackberries and cherry preserve with hints of black coffee. It is tannic and acidic in the mouth, with good depth and persistency. It is attractive and unusual. We recommend drinking it with spiced red meats and particularly with Mexican food.

MORANDÉ AVENTURA PORTUGUES BLEU

A vine-stock originally from Portugal, and widespread in southern Germany and Switzerland, it was introduced into the unirrigated interior of southern Chile, and was not widely propagated because of its low level of production. It was planted in Casablanca as an experiment, and from there we offer it to you. It has the ruby-red colour of cherries, with the scent of strawberries, minty with hints of aromatic herbs.

It has a dry, delicate, light and refreshing flavour. A light, entertaining wine to accompany pizzas, sandwiches, salads and charcuterie.
